Do you want to learn coding? These are places to learn it from

Programming/Coding is a very beautiful thing. One thing with coding is that most people are always afraid that coding is difficult or very hard. As for me, coding has to be the most beautiful thing I've ever experienced.

It's so beautiful how you type a code into a computer or interpreter and the code is run and you see how it looks. It just feels amazing typing the code and also knowing what to type. In this post if you want to get started with coding or learn coding, I'm going to show you how you can get started and where you can learn it from.

There are a lot of websites, apps and platforms where you can learn it, but you need to pick the best one in which you can understand well. People have different understanding levels and preferences so you should pick the one that fits you.

Here are some websites and apps to learn from:

1. Free code camp: Free code camp is a website that teaches people various coding languages like HTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT, Python, PHP, Node and others. It's a non-profit organization. It's a very comprehensive website with free tools which I would recommend to anyone. It's completely free.

2. Udemy: Udemy is a website that teaches not only coding, but a wide variety of topics. Unlike free code camp, you have to pay to learn the courses. It has a wide variety of lessons in different programming languages you can learn from.

3. W3Schools: This is a very nice website in which you can learn to code. The lessons are completely free. To add to it, there is an IDE editor in which you can write your code and run it.

4. Solo learn: Solo learn is a mobile app which teaches various programming languages with many comprehensive lessons. I didn't really like Solo learn because I couldn't properly understand the lessons. That's why I said above that people have different preferences.

You might understand the courses, but I might not. I can't say for sure whether you would also like it, but the best way to know that is if you try it out yourself

5. Codemurai: This coding learning app happens to be my all time favorite. What I love most about the app is that the lessons/tutorials are easy to learn and understand. The words used in the lessons are easy to understand and is good especially for a beginner.

I use this app personally and I must say, during a short period of time I've learnt a lot. This app can be gotten from Play Store. Open Play Store on your phone and search "Codemurai". You should see the image below. Now download the app and open it.

Please note if you're a beginner, I recommend you start with web development. It's easy to understand and grasp compared to game development and Android development. So when you select the web development course start with HTML. You need to learn HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Those are the basics of web development. When you're done with that you can advance to other languages like node.js, Mongo dB, Angular, Python, PHP and the rest, then later you can learn app development. One more thing. Programming should be enjoyed and not rushed.

When you open the app, learn one lesson a day only. Another reason is because the app has coins. You get few coins every day and they're used to unlock each lesson. Without coins you can't unlock a new lesson.

The app has courses Like Web development course, it has many lessons like HTMl, CSS, JavaScript, node.js, Angular, typescript and others. Start with the first one which is HTML. If you open a lesson linking to the first without finishing the first lesson, you might not understand anything.

Even if you've learnt a programming language before, it's recommended to learn it again from the app so you can refresh your memory. Sometimes when you're learning you might find difficulty understanding a particular topic.

You can take a break and visit it later or another day. Also, if you feel stressed from school, work, or your day to day activities, you can take a break from learning coding for one or two days. Let it be highest three days so that you don't forget everything.

When you're learning, you need to practice. You need to type your code and run it. Unfortunately, codemurai doesn't have an IDE where you can run your code. To write your code and run it, download Anwriter from playstore. It's very good for writing code it languages like HTML, CSS and JavaScript. There are a lot of free IDE's on Play Store, but I prefer this one.

Let me show you a little trick. Suppose you have a laptop and you don't have an internet connection, open your notepad, write your HTML code there and save the file in this format (. html). Go to your file manager, click open with browser and you can view your code. It's amazing!!

Conclusion

Programming as I said in the beginning of this post is very amazing. Don't be afraid of it. I was once afraid of it, but now I'm living the dream!! I recommend anyone to learn it. It can be used for a variety of things. A good example is Python. It makes life easier. What you would spend a day doing, you can write a python code that can do it in one hour.

HTML, CSS and JavaScript can be combined to create very powerful websites. You can add another language like PHP or Python to it to add a finishing touch. You can use those to create websites for people as a side hustle and get paid.

You can also hit it big by getting a job in a coding company. Be it a web developing company, a game developing company, an app developing company or whatever. The opportunities are endless! A lot of people are coders/ programmers and they are living the dream! Programming is just amazing.
